Who's Who in the library? Margaret Keilty can be found in the library every day. Jennifer Stanbro is the K-5 Library Media Specialist and is in the library only at scheduled times. |
Brown Elementary Library provides library materials to students, teachers, and families. Parents are invited to request and borrow library materials for reading aloud through their children's library accounts. Students may borrow books and audio books from any South Portland School Library though interschool loan. The South Portland library program also provides an integrated instructional component to students. Through library visits and work in classrooms, the library program supports reading, research and technology education. |
What's New In the Brown Library The Brown Library is bustling with activity this month. Miss Keilty has put together a wonderful bookfair. Students are having fun choosing new books to take home. Thank you so much for supporting the Brown Library. The 4th and 5th grades have kicked-off the Maine Student Book Award program this year. This is the third year we have run this popular program. Check the web link to the left to see the great books available. The K-3 student will be starting the Chickadee Award progam next month, where they will read and vote for their favorite picture book. The 3rd and 4th grades are busy working on research projects with Ms. Stanbro. The 4th grade are writing letters to the President about various famous figures in history. The 3rd grade is making wanted posters for some animals that escaped from the zoo. They are researching all kinds of animals to create their posters in Microsoft Publisher. |
